The Importance Of Animal Farm By George Orwell - 1325 Words

One day at Manor Farm that was ran by Mr. Jones, the animals took over and started their big revolution but over the years their leaders changed and the farm started to fall apart. In Animal Farm written by George Orwell the animal revolution failed indefinitely because the original ideas of the revolution that Old Major spoke about were forgotten over time, Napoleon was unfair to the animals that were in the lower class and the pigs started to act like the humans that ran the farm before them. The animal revolution failed because the original ideas of the revolution were forgotten over time. The night when Old Major spoke about taking over Manor Farm and what he saw in that dream he spoke about the seven commandments which were going to†¦show more content†¦Ã¢â‚¬Å"Beasts of England has been abolished. From now onwards it was forbidden to sing it. The animals were taken aback. â€Å"Why?† cried Muriel. â€Å"It’s no longer needed, comrade,† said Squealer stiffly. â€Å"Beasts of England was the song of the Rebellion. But the Rebellion is now completed.†(88) Since Squealer was such a good persuader all the animals forgot about the song that wasn’t really about the Rebellion but more for the pride of the animals and they moved on to a song that was more about Napoleon than it’s was about the farm and the animals. The animal revolution fails because the original ideas of the revolution spoken by Old Major were forgotten. Another failure that happened during the revolution was that Napoleon was unfair with the animals that were in the lower class. Lowering The Drinking Age - 1336 Words

Studies show that keeping the drinking age at twenty-one improves lives. When the United States raised the age limit to twenty-one in 1985, a shortage of drinking occurred at a whopping 40% by 1991. As a result, fewer students drop out of high school, less motor accidents occur, and suicides rates dropped significantly. However, lowering the drinking age to eighteen will bring serious consequences on young adults by reversing these statistics. Lowering the drinking age will cause significant health problems, draw youth to poor judgment situations, before they are even old enough to handle the responsibility of drinking. Lowering the drinking age to eighteen years old will brings major health problems to young adults at an early age. Drinking under the age of twenty-one will begin to cause serious brain damage. Celies Pain in The Color Purple Molestation is a topic that is painful to think about, and even more difficult to write about. Yet Alice Walker chose this as the central theme of her novel The Color Purple. Walkers work centers around a poor African American girl Celie. Celie keeps a diary, and the first section of the novel is an excerpt from her diary. After reading the excerpt, the reader comes to realize that Celie is a fourteen-year-old girl who has been molested by her father. Revealing The Dystopia Of Brave New World Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World reflects the fallacies of utopian happiness when a totalitarian government artificially controls a society. Controllers of the â€Å"World State† in Brave New World strategically allow their citizens to use designer drugs, mainly Soma, to create an unintelligent and unquestioning population that is segregated into five different social classes. However, there are some rebels in the midst of the World State that don’t stand true to their government’s laws. Moderation is almost unheard of in Brave New World. Soma, intensely pleasurably yet numbing to the mind, is the Brave New World version of drinking soda. Everyone does it. â€Å"The soma habit was not a private vice but a public institution† (Bowering 70). The controllers of the world state researched the drug for six years, until soma was finally produced. No instant side effects are caused, although the over use of the drug can result in a shortened life s pan of around forty-to-fifty years. This drug is used to the advantages of the Controllers. Mustapha Mond, the lead Controller of the World State in Brave New World, is one of the largest proponents in the embracement of Huxley’s Fordist ideas (Brander 76).
